Tyreke Johnson reveals damning Ohio State CFP story and calls out Ryan Day after loss to Michigan

Previous Ohio State cornerback Tyreke Johnson cried out Ryan Day after the Buckeyes’ fourth straight loss to Michigan on Saturday. It marks their longest losing streak in the rivalry since the late 1980s and early 1990s.

Johnson played for Ohio State from 2018-20 before transferring to Nebraska. He was part of the team that played against Alabama in the 2020 National Championships.

Johnson said that game was when he knew Day “wasn’t the answer” at Ohio State. Alabama won the national title game 52-24, mark Nick Saban’s seventh championship with the Crimson Tide.

“You can say I hate or whatever you want but I knew Coach Day wasn’t the answer when we played in the national championship against Bama and at halftime he didn’t say a word to the team, just walked into the office and started blaming other coaches.” Johnson wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

Ohio State entered Saturday’s game looking to punch its ticket to the Big Ten Championship and snap its losing streak to its storied rival. However, Michigan’s defense held strong and didn’t allow the Buckeyes to get into a rhythm, and a field goal in the closing seconds sealed the Wolverines’ 13-10 victory to pull off the stunner.

Afterwards there were lots of fireworks. A fights broke out at midfield as Michigan tried to plant a flag at the 50-yard line and several players were hit with pepper spray. It was a wild scene as the two teams had to part ways after the game, with Ryan Day addressing the situation his press conference after the match.

“Yeah, I don’t know all the details about it,” Day said. “But I know these guys want to put a flag on our field and our guys weren’t going to let that happen. I’ll find out exactly what happened but this is our field and we’re really embarrassed that we lost the game, but there are some proud guys on our team who wouldn’t just let that happen.”
