The Battersbys get another shock Coronation Street next week when they learn more about Death of Les (Bruce Jones)..

As fans know, the character was killed off-screen last month, along with his daughter Leanne (Jane Danson), stepdaughter Toyah (Georgia Taylor) and stepson Chesney Brown (Sam Aston) was shocked to hear of his passing.

As our spoiler video from Wednesday’s episode reveals, the family gathers to hear the reading of Les’ will at Adam Barlow’s (Sam Robertson) law office.

Adam states that Les only had a small amount of savings to leave Leanne, Toyah and Chesney.

His stepdaughter Fiz Dobbs (Jenny McAlpine) gets a monogrammed cigarette lighter, while Chesney also gets his famous snakeskin jacket. As a long-time Status Quo superfan, Les also left a final copy of the band’s Piledriver album to pal Kirk Sutherland (Andy Whyment).

But Les’ family are shocked when Adam then reveals that the butchery where Les worked when he died is prepared to pay them £50,000 if they agree to sign an NDA.

Adam says he has no more information about the sequence of events that led to his accident, but the company’s offer of hush money is immediately met with suspicion.

“It doesn’t sound shady at all,” says Nick Tilsley (Ben Price).

“Fifty grand for an NDA? That’s questionable. We have to challenge that,” Chesney agrees.

Leanne is overwhelmed and needs to go outside to get some air, while the rest of the family are reeling from what they just heard.

Will they get to the bottom of Les’ death, or will they accept the offer of the slaughterhouse’s cash?

Coronation Street airs these scenes on Wednesday 4 December at 8pm on ITV1, or stream first from 7am on ITVX.
