COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) – The Aggie spirit was on full display Friday night as thousands of fans filled Kyle Field for a special Yell practice ahead of Saturday’s historic rivalry game against the Texas Longhorns.

Starting at 5:30 p.m., this earlier-than-usual yell drill gave families and the Aggie football team a chance to join the crowd. Head coach Mike Elko and the players made a rare appearance, electrifying the atmosphere as fans rallied behind the team.

For Head Yell Leader Jake Carter, the night was extra meaningful as it marked his final Yell Practice as a senior.

“Honestly, just speechless,” Carter said. “Seeing the 12th man come together is probably the biggest screaming match ever in history, and just to see our willingness to come together, get ready to knock yourself out. It was just so special.”

The rivalry game between Texas A&M and Texas, the first in more than a decade, has reignited passion among fans. Screams and chants filled the stadium, with cries of “Beat the hell out of tu” echoing throughout the night.

Fireworks ended the event, leaving the crowd buzzing with anticipation for Saturday’s kickoff at 7 p.m. 18.30.

“This is more than just a game,” Carter said. “The Aggie experience – it cannot be bought or imitated. You have to be a part of this university to see how special it is.”
