Cranston arrests include assault on officer, fugitives from justice

CRANSTON – A series of arrests by the ACI Investigations Unit on Nov. 27 resulted in several people facing charges, including assault on a corrections officer and being a fugitive from justice.

Edward Akinrinlola, 36, of Howard Avenue, was arrested and charged with assault on a correctional officer.

Arraigned in Third Division District Court, Akinrinlola was admitted as a trespasser by the Superior Court and granted $5,000 surety bond.

In a separate incident, Arney Hepburn, 40, of Pershing Street, was detained as a fugitive from Massachusetts.

During his arraignment in the same court, Hepburn waived extradition proceedings and was ordered to be held at ACI until he returned to Massachusetts.

Jamie Nelson, 35, of Leander Street, Providence, also faced charges similar to Akinrinlolas’ for assaulting a corrections officer.

After her arraignment, Nelson was granted a $5,000 bond as a Superior Court trespasser.

Also arrested was Corey Derosiers, 39, of Wiccoppe Avenue, South Attleboro, Massachusetts, for being a fugitive from justice from his home state.

After waiving extradition in Third Division District Court, Derosiers was ordered held at ACI pending his extradition to Massachusetts.
