How Ben Affleck’s divorce from Jennifer Lopez is allegedly affecting his new film with Matt Damon

It’s no secret Ben Affleck and Matt Damon are best friends, and the two like to collaborate on feature films from time to time. Last, Damon and Affleck teamed up for the crime thriller TEARwhich is directed by Joe Carnahan. The latest reports suggest that the production of the film is currently underway, with the cast filled and all. But if an insider is to be believed, work on the film has run into a bit of a predicament. And it’s allegedly due to the effects of Affleck’s divorce from Jennifer Lopez.

In recent months, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez have been wrapped up in reports of their marriage. Lopez formally filed for divorce from her husband of two years at the end of August. Based on what has been claimed by sources, “Bennifer” has been trying to navigate the situation amicably, for the sake of her children. However, a person with presumed knowledge of the matter spoke Page six and claimed that Affleck’s personal affairs are slowing down production on his latest film:

With Ben’s divorce and everything going on in his personal life, production on the film has slowed down, and there is currently no release date. They are still working on the project, but there is no firm deadline with any of it.

TEAR is set to be available for Netflix subscription holder sometime after launch, and right now the streamer hasn’t released any statement to support the notion that production has stumbled in some respects. The Auditor the star himself has not commented on the status of the film either. As of now, the Oscar winner has been equally tight-lipped about the details of his split from JLo. Despite all this, should the report be true, fans can take solace in the fact that the film is still moving forward.

In the middle of Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez relationship (and recently moved on to divorce), one constant has been that Matt Damon has had his friend’s back. The Bourne identity the star has also been friends with Affleck’s estranged wife, however, who he and JLo had a run-in at the Toronto International Film Festival, where they promoted the film they produced with Affleck, Unstoppable. It has even been said Damon tried to broker peace between the couple. All the while, it sounds like he and Affleck are getting down to business:

Ben and Matt are working on a few different projects, but their main focus has been on the Netflix crime thriller. Things just haven’t progressed as quickly as they first planned.

So overall, these comments suggest that progress is still being made, just not at a pace that is likely to be preferable. The upcoming film is produced under Matt Damon and Ben Affleck’s Artists Equity, while Joe Carnahan not only directs but also writes the screenplay. Also included in the cast are Sashe Calle, Teyana Taylor and Scott Adkins. This could be an exciting film and hopefully it will continue as needed.
