HOUSTON – Two teams at the top of their respective divisions begin to battle on Sunday Night Football, when the Detroit Lions visit the Houston Texans.

The Lions come into another primetime matchup off the back of a big win over a division rival. On Sunday at Lambeau Field, Detroit’s defense was at a standstill against the Green Bay Packers, leading 24-14. It’s part of an impressive football streak for the defending NFC North champions. The offense has been effective when it needs to be and the defense, without starting edge rusher Aidan Hutchinson, has done more than enough to be a tough team to beat.

On Sunday, the Lions head north, one game ahead of the Minnesota Vikings.

On the other hand, the Texans are trying to get in line for another division title. CJ Stroud and company got off to a good start themselves, but the loss of Stefon Diggs for the rest of the season has seemed to hamper the offense a bit. It was evident on Thursday Night Football last week, when Houston scored a paltry 13 points against the hapless New York Jets, leading to a 21-13 defeat. While the Texans appear to have a comfortable lead in the AFC South, they must be careful not to let things slip away.

Houston has a two-game lead on the Indianapolis Colts for the top of the division.

This will be just the sixth meeting between the Lions and Texans, with Houston leading the series, 4-1.
