Emergency services discovered the body of a deceased 56-year-old man at an Echuca home on McSwain Road at about 7.30pm on Saturday.

Authorities arrested a 30-year-old Mooroopna man at the scene who is being held by Victoria Police.

The suspect is yet to be questioned.

“The exact circumstances surrounding the death are yet to be determined at this stage and investigations are still ongoing,” Victoria Police wrote in a statement.

It is understood the men know each other, authorities said.
