Chiefs Super Bowl winner Matt Bushman and wife Emily are expecting their third child

Matt Bushman and his wife Emily Bushman are growing their family.

On Tuesday, Oct. 29, the former Kansas City Chiefs tight end, 28, and his husband shared a sweet video on social media announcing that they would soon be a family of five.

“Baby Bushman #3 Coming in April! Swipe for a surprise ,” Emily captioned the photo Instagram carousel. Emily is the daughter of retired tight end Chad Lewis, who played for now Chiefs head coach Andy Reid on the Philadelphia Eagles in the late 90s.

The first photo showed the couple standing outdoors on a backyard deck, smiling as they held up an ultrasound printout with several photos.

In the second swipe, Emily added a video of the Bushman family gathered with loved ones for a gender reveal.

Emily held her toddler Micah Jane on her hip as daughter Andie Mae, 4, stood between her mom and dad.

The pair did a quick countdown before their handheld smoke-filled props opened to release a cloud of blue smoke.

“It’s a brother!” Emily screamed excitedly as several people and children standing on the outdoor deck with them cheered the family on. Andie smiled at the news before being picked up by her dad.

On February 1st, before Super Bowl LVIII, Emily posted one TikTok video where she revealed how she “prepared for the Super Bowl.” She said her two girls would be staying with their mother during the Feb. 11 festivities.

“So, two weeks before the players have to figure out all the logistics. The players get a certain number of tickets to the Super Bowl and only two of them get to compete,” she said as she walked with then-7-month-old Micah Jane, who sat in a carrier.

“The tickets are about four times what they usually are,” Emily said, noting that each player gets two tickets, but all other seats must be purchased separately.

After the Chiefs’ win against the San Francisco 49ers at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas for Super Bowl LVIII, Matt ended his run with the NFL. Matt was also a member of the Chiefs team that beat the Eagles in Super Bowl LVII in February 2023.

“If a great opportunity comes up in the NFL again, I’ll take it,” the former pro athlete added Y’s Guys podcast in April, per Deseret News. “However, after much prayer and a period of reflection, I felt it was time to take the next step and step away from football.”

At the start of the 2023-2024 NFL season, Matt stepped in when Travis Kelce was out with an injury, but returned to the training squad once Grotesquerie star, 35, recovered.

“Playing in the first game, it was uneventful, but it was great,” Matt continued. “It’s kind of a gut feeling to know when it’s time to act. This is not a retirement announcement, but I’m taking those steps to move forward.”
